Samsung has announced that another firmware update for the Galaxy S10 series will be released, and no, it is not the Android 13. Instead, the new update focuses on camera, Bluetooth, and overall stability improvements. This update and the October security patch are scheduled for the Galaxy S10 series.
According to SamMobile, this update is now available for the Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e, and Galaxy S10 across Europe and the Galaxy S10 5G in Switzerland. The updates would soon be available in other markets, including the United States.
This article will explain what you can expect from these new updates.
Samsung S10 Series Camera Improvements
According to the official changelog, Samsung appears to be improving the camera stability, Bluetooth stability, and connectivity of the Galaxy S10 series.
While it is interesting that Samsung is improving the camera quality of a phone released in 2019, it is still a welcome change. The phone would also receive these updates, as well as the October 2022 security patch, which is 1 GB in size and became available a few weeks ago.
After receiving the notification, Samsung users in Europe should be able to get the update. They can also get the update by:
- Use any of their Galaxy S10 series devices to access the “Settings app.”
- Select “Software update.”
- Then “Download and install.”
The Android 13 Update Will Not Be Available for the Galaxy S10 Series
As previously stated, the Galaxy S10 series is ineligible for the Android 13 update. The device was released in early 2019 with Android 9.0 “Pie” and has since been upgraded to Android 10, Android 11, and Android 12.
However, it appears that the Galaxy S10 series will only receive three generations of operating system (OS) updates from Samsung.
Even though the company recently updated its software support policy to include four major OS updates, some Galaxy S10 models are not a part of this extended support.
The Galaxy S10 Lite, on the other hand, will receive the Android 13 update. While this model is not a part of Samsung’s new support policy, it was released nearly a year after the other Samsung models and came with Android 10. As a result, Android 13 would be its third and final OS update.
Samsung is currently testing Android 13 for the Galaxy S10 Lite in its labs, and the updates are expected to be released before the end of the year. We will notify you when the rollout begins.
The Bottom Line
Users of the Samsung Galaxy S10 series will be pleased to learn that Samsung is releasing an update that will improve the phone’s camera quality and Bluetooth. The new updates prioritize camera stability, Bluetooth connectivity and stability, and overall phone stability. Aside from the Galaxy S10 Lite, the other Galaxy S10 models will not receive the Android 10 OS update. The update will be made available in the United States shortly.
