Are there any iPhone fans in the house? In a few hours, Apple will make an announcement! The new iPhone 14 will be unveiled today, September 7, during Apple’s “Far Out” event. The iPhone 14 is expected to be available in Pro, Max, and Pro Max models.
While being one of the first to buy the latest gadgets can be thrilling, you may want to sit back and wait for the official details of the iPhone 14.
Let’s talk about the official release date, specs and when the new Apple product will be available for sale in the market.
What to expect from the new iPhone 14?
The latest Apple flagship phone will likely incorporate camera, design, storage, and satellite network connectivity improvements. According to sources, the “mini” version may be phased out. Here are some other things to expect:
- Size and design
The iPhone 14 will be on sale in 6.1-inch (iPhone 14 and 14 Pro), and 6.7-inch (iPhone 14 Plus and 14 Pro Max) sizes. The Pro model might be a bit taller to fit the rumored hole-pinch and pill design. This is the first instance where Apple has chosen a different design strategy over the iPhone X design. However, the pill designs may be reserved for iPhone Pro models, while standard models would most likely retain the same design as the iPhone 13.
- Chip
This year, Apple may deviate from the norm by delivering some iPhone 14 versions using the iPhone 13’s A15 processor. The improved A15 chipset would power the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. On the other side, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max would be the only devices that use the most recent A16 chip.
- Camera
Another notable detail of the iPhone 14 Pro models is the 48MP wide-angle sensor camera, which supports 8K video recording. The standard iPhone 14 devices would retain the 12MP sensor in every camera lens. Apple would also significantly upgrade the front-facing camera and introduce an autofocus option to increase the phone’s picture quality.
When can you buy the new iPhone 14?
Typically, iPhones are available for preorder on the Friday following the event.
As a result, we anticipate it will be available for preorder on Friday, September 9.
Furthermore, Apple release dates are typically one and a half weeks after their events or one week after preorder dates. However, specific model launch dates may be postponed, especially if the company is releasing a new design or size. As a result, each of the iPhone 14 models may have a different release date.
According to CNET, alleged supply chain concerns for the iPhone 14 may affect its final release date. Also, in keeping with our expectations, a recent Bloomberg story claimed that the iPhone 14 would be released on September 16.
When is the Apple event?
Today, September 7, Apple’s “Far Out” online-only event will begin at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET/6 p.m. BST. It will answer most of the theories and rumors about the future of Apple’s smartphone products.
In addition, new wearable gadgets such as the Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch SE will be introduced.
This event could be just the tip of the iceberg since we expect Apple to introduce the M2 MacBook Pro and M2 iPad in October. There are also reports about the Apple VR headset’s debut.
Summary
We’re barely hours away from finding out the iPhone 14 design, price, and official release dates after almost a year of waiting and sorting through speculations.
There is also anticipation that this event may provide a preview of what to expect from other Apple products that will be available for sale in October. Could that be correct? We may not have to wait for too long to discover that.
We’ll provide further updates on the iPhone 14 after the event. Let us know which rumored specifications or features excite you the most!
